Henry A. Bundschu (1887-1978), lawyer and personal friend of Harry S. Truman, was born in Independence, Missouri. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan in 1911. From 1924 to 1928, he worked as an attorney for the Sheriff of Jackson County, Missouri. In 1926, he created the law partnership of Wilson, Bundschu & Bailey.
